Madison Park Café Description:
This snug little bungalow, complete with fireplace and sun dappled courtyard, is a favorite among Madison Park denizens for relaxed, candlelit dinners or weekend brunches. Owner Karen Binder has traveled extensively throughout Europe and she brings this experience to the table. The menu leans toward comforting French country fare. We've long enjoyed the cassoulet, a fragrant bean stew packed with duck confit, lamb, pork and andouille sausage served in a petite earthenware casserole. Appetizers of note include the robust onion soup, and the roasted portobello mushroom paired with hazelnut-crusted fromage blanc. The wine list is tight and well-informed. Do not hesitate to ask Binder for a suggestion. Brunch is a multi-ethnic affair: from french toast to Italian sausage strata, from huevos rancheros to blintzes.
