La Creperie Description:
Chefmoz categories don't work well for La Creperie. It is, of course, a creperie, so its main dishes are crepes, both sweet and savory. They also have wraps, salads, and smoothies. It is a very small, homey spot, frequently mainly at lunchtime and late night.
Tucked into an alley on Providence's East Side, Creperie is a student hangout from morning to well past midnight. The ambience amounts to a few rickety tables, a chipped counter with stools and a couple of random Art Nouveau prints. But what the eatery lacks in sophistication it more than makes up for with the zest of its folded crêpes. The slightly garlicky "Josephine" combines diced chicken, cheddar, quartered mushrooms and béchamel. The Racquel---named for the owner's daughter---is filled with baby spinach, Brie and cranberries. Under $6, each is filling enough for a meal---but you'll still want to finish with a dessert crêpe like the cinnamon-apple "Nori."
