The Pok Pok Shack accepts cash only, has some outside seating but is primarily a take-out establishment. The Whiskey Soda lounge offers the Pok Pok menu with inside seating and full bar.
Pok Pok is the sort of place that has made Portland a shining star on the foodie map. What started as a take-out shack for Asian street fare has since expanded into a foodie compound. While the take-out shack remains, surrounded by outdoor tables, the Whiskey Soda Lounge is located down the ramp in the basement next door. The entrées here reflect a variety of origins, from Thai street vendors to a famous Hanoi restaurant. Check out the super-crispy Vietnamese chicken wings. The signature dish, kai yaang, is a fragrant roasted game hen stuffed with lemon grass, garlic, pepper and cilantro. The specials are always adventurous. Ask your server about pairing your selections with Pok Pok's exotic beverages---or just ask for an ice-cold beer.
