Restaurant Murata Description:
If you're in a "Zen and the art of sushi" mood, this is the spot for you. Ignore the tables jammed together in this tiny place and focus on the paper-doored tatami rooms providing shelter and a serene ambience for authentic Japanese menu sampling. Almost everything here is done well, from the fresh sushi and sashimi, to the laciest tempura, and deeply flavorful soft-shell crabs in a lacquered sauce. While a bit pricier than other Japanese places, it's worth every yen, and the waitresses in kimonos couldn't be more gracious---their Japanese greetings punctuate Murata's authenticity. Its location very close to the Keller Auditorium makes it a fine choice for a pre-show dinner.
