This pricey chain distinguishes itself with soft lighting, quiet tones, and displays of expensive Bordeaux to accompany its deluxe meat-eaters menu. It's a place where the sommelier speaks of his wines as products, and there's a corporate feel. There's also a pretentious show-and-tell you must endure before ordering. All that aside, the steaks here are notable, the aged beef mostly Prime and butter-soft. We recommend the porterhouse and the filet mignon graced with béarnaise. Portions are frightfully large, up to 24 ounces of beef, and who really needs that much? Everything is à la carte, which runs up the tab fast. If you don't mind an over-earnest and overly self-conscious enterprise, you'll have a highly satisfying protein-laden dinner. The close proximity to Keller Auditorium makes this a convenient dining spot before a night at the opera or ballet.
