The tasteful spot, just 45 minutes from downtown Portland, pairs simple yet elegant cooking with regional wines, particularly Oregon Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir. Preparations are inventive but never excessive, with a foundation of intelligently disciplined imagination. You may find rack of local lamb nestled in a port garlic sauce or wild mushroom risotto starring fresh morels and matsutakes. We are especially fond of the sweet surprises such as a nectarine blueberry cobbler with a buttery almond crust. The wine list draws heavily from the Yamhill Valley, and if you linger over coffee, you're likely to see some growers or winemakers make a late night appearance to show off their latest reserve bottlings. Tina's is the kind of place where your questions and interest will be welcome by the vintners, and who knows, they may even pour you a taste.
