Belgian cuisine. On Monday nights they offer a fixed price menu with a choice of appetizer, entree, and a dessert; drinks are extra. Large assortment of imported Belgian beers and wines.
Perhaps the greatest secret Olney holds, this diminutive Belgian restaurant brings together a stunning beer list and imported brews, kilos of steamed mussels, and a nonchalance that other restaurants may well covet. Service tends to be pokey, but that really doesn't impede the jollity, for even if the bucket of steamed mussels cooked in one of about two dozen different seasoning combinations doesn't appear immediately, another dark, foamy beer will. Don't like bivalves? You may want to head elsewhere, or settle for one of the Belgian chef's non-mussel entrées, including the traditional carbonnade flamande (the Flemish stew simmered in dark beer), a less imposing waterzooi de lotte ou poulet (a lighter stew with either monkfish or chicken), and a stunning steak frites, with a mountain of fried potatoes accompanying steak served one of six different ways. Note: make that steak topped with poivre vert for a very snappy meal. House-made pastries are delicate tarts and tortes, presented on a tray for your selection.
