Wasabi Zen Description:
This is a Sushi Restaurant very near the intersection of Georia Avenue and Route 108 in the center of Olney. It can be hard to find as it is halfway down a small strip mall that is oriented perpendicular to the street, and hidden from street view. Only the sign on Georgia Avenue betrays its presence.
Small and pretty, this Japanese restaurant will change the way you think about sushi---which is the real name of the game here. The sushi chef creates outrageous and delightful combinations that put to shame the more traditional sushi offerings. Hawaiian Sun Set roll pairs salmon and avocado with pineapple, crab and mango; Tres Amigos puts together chopped tuna, salmon, yellowtail and avocado. But if you prefer simpler sushi, the chef does not overlook the more standard tuna, eel, and squid tidbits. The rest of the menu doesn’t keep pace but the sushi is worth a drive from just about anywhere. A treat!
