This Middle Eastern eatery, with a menu as small as the five-table dining room, specializes in one thing: hummus---possibly the best in the city. The hummus fava, a fava bean stew with aromatic olive oil and a sliced hard-boiled egg in the center, is a meal in itself; the hummus tahini includes olives oil and spices, good with pita bread and pickles. The non-hummus shakshuka, a tomato and veggie stew served with eggs and halumi cheese, manages to be hearty and light at the same time. And make sure to save some room for homemade date cookies or sweet, syrupy baklava.
