Deanie's Description:
Deanie's was the very first seafood market to open in Bucktown, once a quaint fishing village just outside the city of New Orleans. Today it is a bustling suburb. The fried oysters, shrimp and crab all impart the same flavors, but don't be taken aback: that's the Deanie's style. The dishes on the large menu all have the ring of familiarity: po' boys, platters and salads come decked with still more fried seafood, while, depending on the season, many tables will also be heaped with boiled crawfish, shrimp or crabs. Be prepared for squealing babies and catch-as-catch-can service, too. But where else does the server approach the table every time with a bowl of hot and spicy boiled potatoes, even before you order your cold sweet tea or icy mug of beer? Additional locations are found in the Warehouse District and French Quarter, but neither is quite like the original.
