Bibendum Description:
Located in the old Michelin Building along with a number of trendy shops. A gracefully designed space with elements harkening back to its mascot, the Michelin man (Monsieur Bibendum).

The French menu has traditional and contemporary touches; the service is courteous and competent.
The light, airy first-floor dining room, with its stained-glass windows featuring Monsieur Bibendum, remains one of London's most enjoyable experiences. And so it should be; it's one of the few restaurants that Sir Terence Conran retained when he sold his group to D&D London. The cooking under the guiding hand of Matthew Harris is consistently first-rate. Dishes change daily on the lunch menu and it is no idle boast that they contain the freshest seasonal ingredients. Go for the likes of terrine of foie gras with Armagnac jelly or spinach mousse with anchovy hollandaise, follow with grilled scallops and artichokes with a vièrge sauce or simple steak au poivre. This is classic French cooking, with the odd modern touch of Asian spicing. Desserts are as good as you would expect in a Conran-owned restaurant: pithiviers au chocolat or iced raspberry parfait. This is unashamedly good, unfussy, classic dining in a startling setting, and the wine list is first-rate to match the experience. Set 2-course lunch Mon.-Fri. £25; set 3-course lunch daily and 3 course Sun. supper menu £29.50.
