Thomas Cubitt Description:
The Thomas Cubitt is spacious and gracious with a ground floor bar packing in the locals for drinks and nibbles, and an elegant restaurant upstairs. The cooking is generally very good indeed, such as oysters (this part of London is real oysters and Champagne country) and a twice-baked cheese and thyme soufflé. Mains include fish of the day and staples of modern British cooking like slow-cooked lamb shank and native fish. Cheeses---all British---are well chosen and kept; desserts include coffee crème brûlée with donuts. The wine list is imaginative and wide-ranging, particularly strong on French wines. Expect the place to be crowded at all times.
