Poipu Tropical Burgers Description:
Families will appreciate this casual, open-air restaurant with a menu that offers a wide selection of inexpensive items, as well as a children's menu. Breakfasts are ample and the tasty omelets are served until 3 p.m. The food is simple, but not at all pedestrian: the rum-guava burger and mango-chicken sausage links give you a clue. Salads, soups and half-pound gourmet burgers featuring Kauai free-range beef are offered all day; non-carnivores will appreciate the tasty veggie or fresh mahi mahi burgers. A few dinner specials in the surf 'n' turf vein are added at night. The bottomless soft drinks could be dangerous to dieters, as are the homemade-style desserts. Beer, wine and tropical drinks are served, too. Locations on both the east and west side of the island make it convenient.
