Joe's Bar and Grill Description:
Joe is the Joe Gannon of Haliimaile General Store fame; his wife is chef Bev Gannon. This smallish, open-air bistro located above the tennis courts at Wailea is an escape from hotel food. The Gannons, who were once in the entertainment biz, have a way of attracting celebrities, but that's not why you come here. You come to sip cocktails and graze on crowd-pleasing appetizers and salads like the shrimp and scallop tamale, the smoked salmon arepa tower and the baked crab dip. If you've got room, dig into honest entrées that live up to the restaurant's motto (simply delicious food): seafood cioppino; beer-brined pork chop with cheese grits; and grilled rack of lamb in Port wine sauce.
