Lucy's Grill & Bar Description:
This is an ambitious restaurant for this Windward suburban town. Noisy, fun, a sit-at-the-counter-and-watch-them-cook sort of place. The food’s highly seasoned, with the touch of sweetness that seems to appeal to the Hawai’i palate. Try the ahi and scallop carpaccio with sweet ginger aïoli, or salmon shiitake mushroom pot sticker with lemon buerre blanc and sweet Asian chili sauce. We like the pizzas here, especially the caramelized Maui onion, walnut and Gorgonzola version. The prawns come Szechuan-spiced in a black bean cream sauce and the best of the meats in the braised lamb shank with roasted garlic and mint-merlot glaze. We found the place a bit pricey for the suburbs, but it’s certainly setting the pace for this area.
