With a name that pays homage to the NFL quarterback and three-time MVP that led the Green Bay Packers to victory in Super Bowl XXXI, it's no wonder this steakhouse is a local favorite. The food here also lives up to the hype. The menu's unusual blend of Northern and Southern cuisine (Brett Favre was born in Mississippi) may seem like a peculiar juxtaposition for a steakhouse, but the talented chefs pull it off. For a taste of Favre's Southern roots, order the jambalaya, a Creole dish with rice, shrimp, chicken and andouille sausage (it's based on a family recipe) or baby-back ribs with Brett's secret barbecue sauce. Born-and-bred Green Bayers, however, prefer Northern dishes like plumb brats and hearty steak sandwiches. Avowed prime rib-lovers may have no problem downing the 16-ounce Rookie, but will they be up for the 20-ounce Brett's Cut? On your way out, pick up a souvenir keychain or a Packers snow globe from the gift shop for the folks back home.
