Located on the 21st floor of a downtown Bellevue office tower, this Daniel's Broiler (there's also one on Lake Union and another at Leschi on Lake Washington) offers great views as well as topnotch steaks. Of the trio of upscale Daniel's Broiler steakhouses (part of the Schwartz Brothers family of restaurants), this one is the most suavely masculine. Its décor is clubby with lots of wood and leather, and there's a well-ventilated fireside library cigar lounge. In the dining room, huge steaks are the raison d'être, and our preference is the rib-eye or the New York strip, both weighing in at a full 16 ounces. Prime grade and naturally-aged, steaks are seared in an 1,800-degree broiler and cooked as ordered. The ten-ounce filet mignon is petite when compared to the 22-ounce porterhouse. Side dishes, such as baked potatoes and creamy spinach, are large enough to share and satisfy a crowd. Oysters Rockefeller makes a terrific starter, but save room for the main course. For those who've left room for dessert, we recommend the decadent Valrhona chocolate cake or chocolate-dipped, liqueur-filled strawberries.
