Greg's Bagels Description:
We've never been able to pry the complete recipe for these bagels from owner Greg Novik, known hereabouts as the Mayor of Belvedere Square. But we do know the secret ingredient: barley malt. It adds an ineffable depth to the flavor of these handcrafted beauties. Dining in or carrying out, you can have these bagels topped with any number of ingredients, from eggs and bacon or Havarti and sprouts to whitefish salad to the tandoori-scented taste of India chicken salad thick with mango, raisins and almonds. You'll also find an ever-changing collection of smoked salmons to crown a shmear of cream cheese. But these bagels aren't just carriers for a sandwich, they're darned good all by themselves.
