Review :
I met some friends for drinks last week and we sat in the lounge. The bartender was pompous right from the start. The food was very good. The bill was not brought to our table when we asked for it so we went up to the bar. We waited 4-5 minutes while the bartender chatted up a regular customer sitting at the bar. We went and sat down and finished our drinks. We got up again and he started to enter the information into the register when another regular cut in and asked him to make them 5 cognacs. He dropped us and went to make the cognacs. How insulted we were. We complained and his comment was do I hear sarcasim in your voice!! I said look I do not want to argue with you I only want to pay my bill. He really made us feel like we were beneath him. I will not be back anytime soon.

Strange. HiHenry wouldn't allow me to carry over my review from province to province. And I can't register with the same username in difference provinces. Anyways, I am regular on HH and it's nice to see them expanding to other provinces. I've only been to 529 on a business trip in Winnipeg. I think this place is like Earls in Vancouver. Believe me, I know Vancouver restaurants. It's a nice wannbe-trendy place. 529 deserves a recognition because of the quality of food. The salmon steak was perfect, which makes me wonder how they got the fish so fresh in the most isolated province in Canada!
