The Loft Restaurant & Lounge Description:
As with any hotel restaurant, your experience at The Loft will depend largely on your timing. Come for breakfast and your dining companions will primarily be other hotel guests, who may be somewhat jarred to consciousness by the sense of beginning the day with a meal taken in a quiet (for the moment) nightclub. Generous portions of fruit, home fries, and specialties like a smoked salmon panino, along with pastoral views of the Pawtuxet River and a historic mill complex, restore some sense of charm, however. In warmer weather, the hotel's huge outdoor deck provides a fine setting for a business lunch or early afternoon cocktails. As for dinner, don't expect tranquility. Yes, the menu includes entrées like pan-seared scallops and braised short ribs, but the ultralounge atmosphere is far more conducive to the refreshingly affordable appetizers, sandwiches, and the flatbread pizzas. Coral chandeliers, translucent tables filled with seashells, and dangling chairs straight out of Dr. Seuss set the mood: embrace it and you'll enjoy the experience, especially if you're young, single, and partial to dance music.
