Outback Steakhouse Description:
This outpost of the steakhouse is, alas, the best place to eat on the Leeward part of the island, with the exception of the Ihilani resort. The theme here is Australian, wearyingly so. But the food is actually New Orleans steakhouse, not Ruth’s Chris, but not bad either, especially for the money. The bloomin’ onion, actually a Japanese tempura chrysanthemum onion, is served with an authentic New Orleans rémoulade. The steaks are seasoned New Orleans style, but this is enough of a family restaurant operation that you can have almost anything grilled---from pork chops to vegetables. One would hope a steakhouse with an Australian theme would have a great list of Australian wine. Nope.
