Ohana Café Description:
Formerly called Café Brooklyn but still backed by the owners of health food store Alive & Well, Ohana Café offers free-range, organic and health-conscious snacks and sandwiches that are affordable and tasty. They make their own corned beef hash and crab cakes, using organic brown and white rices, seared ahi in non-hydrogenated wraps with sun-dried tomato vegan aïoli and grilled sandwiches. During breakfast, look for Big Island free-range eggs with organic bacon, sausage, ham and loco-moco with natural beef. Order your meal to-go at the counter, or take a break and find a seat at one of the cafeteria-style picnic tables inside. Small warning: Because Ohana Café operates mainly as a catering company and kitchen for Alive & Well, they frequently close for days at a time in order to accommodate those duties, so it's best to call ahead or have a backup plan if you're already in the area.
