Beach Vendors Description:
This is not a restaurant entry, but rather describes a bit of the beach vendor situation at Can Gio.
Atop the dune across the road from Can Gio's resort, there is this concrete construction, akin to a shade pergola in a way, maybe 60 or more metres long, by ten metres wide, with access to the beach at front and things like showers and toilets behind. It is divided into spaces akin to cubicles, except that word gives an impression of being closed-in. This is all open air with good views and sea breezes, yet roofed and shady. Rather than say cubicles, imagine a roof, cement floor, and pillars to support the roof. You rent a space in there and that comes with deck chairs, one for each person, and a coffee type table in the middle for the food, etc. You can bring (in our case coming down from Saigon) your own eskies with beer (but you can buy locally if you want to of course), and some snack food like bread and sausage, salad, soft drinks for the kids. We did.
Then from this space you can swim, watch the milling throng, the seascapes, enjoy the breeze, snooze, and buy food from the beach vendors, all sorts of sea produce, which they cook for you upon ordering.
Apart from this space, you can also rent deck chairs under sun umbrellas on the beach itself, where again you and a million others can access the vendors.
