Ghidotti's Description:
The first thing that draws your attention as you enter Ghidotti's is the striking space: terracotta tile, tapestry and leather booths, hefty Mexican-glass tumblers, crystalline chandeliers and grand fireplaces bolster the grandiosity. If only diners were afforded a view of the swanky cityscape or the nearby mountains, instead of a parking lot. Still, it's not hard to steal away and imagine you're in Rome. Focaccia, garlic-rosemary Parmesan bread or grissini begin the meal. Smooch behind the oversize menu as you decide whether to order the tender osso buco with zucchini and pine nuts or veal Marsala with caramelized mushrooms. Avoid the shrimp, overpowered by salt and fennel, and instead entertain the sea scallops with a blood orange reduction. Desserts like cherry-pistachio cannolis or tiramisu have a distinctively European flair. Despite the romance of Italia that breeds inside this restaurant, kids are well-catered to: a kid-size menu, crayons, coloring paper, fried gnocchi and gelato make this a prime spot for families looking for a more reasonably priced Park City dining option. Five-buck Thursdays are offered in the summer, which include everything from $5 wines by the glass to $5 pasta plates.
