El Charro Café Description:
Located in a converted mansion on the outskirts of downtown, El Charro Café is one of the oldest restaurants in Tucson.
El Charro serves restaurant-style (as opposed to fast food-style), authentic Sonoran food. The food and the atmosphere both have a simple feel, including their signature carné seca, made on the premises. Other house specialties include chimichangas, homemade salsas, and desert tamales.
El Charro has a full bar, not central to the restaurant. A wide variety of tequilas are offered, as is a wine list, an assortment of Mexican and domestic beers, and sangria.
El Charro's parking lot is small and usually full. A commuters' pay lot is close by; payment is not required at all hours of the day, but be prepared just in case.
