Sotto In The Village Description:
Set in tony Forest Hill Village, this sister restaurant to the celebrity dragnet Sotto Sotto is no less appealing. Chef Marisa Rocco makes sure the slim-figured socialite customers have plenty of healthy insalata options, from Siciliana (orange, fennel and radicchio) to caprese (arugula, bufala mozzarella, tomato). Antipasti center on grilled vegetables and seafood such as tender deep-fried calamari and lobster tail. Pastas can be ordered as whole wheat or spelt and include classics such as alla puttanesca and alla Bolognese. Hearty appetites will appreciate the rich osso buco and braised beef short ribs. The fresh grilled fish is a perennial favorite. Skip the forgettable scaloppine dishes. Lunch offers a wide assortment of savory panini and pizzette served with a side salad. Desserts, a family affair made by Antonella Vacca, are comfort classics such as tiramisu and espresso panna cotta.

Review :
This is usually the place I take my wife to once a year for our anniversary as they always serve up some of the best Italian I’ve had in Toronto. The service is always friendly and knowledgeable with a great wine selection. Try the beef short ribs or any of the veal dishes, they’re sure to please. Prices aren’t as high as you might expect either, so if you’re in the mood for authentic Italian, check out Sotto Sotto.
