Dhaba Indian Excellence Description:
309 Dhaba Indian Excellence may be called after India's truck-stop-like eateries, but this restaurant is much more sophisticated than its namesake. Diners can order à la carte items such as vegetable samosas and halibut Bengal curry or opt for personable chef P.K. Ahluwalia's four- or six-course menus to experience a range of dishes. Two tandoor clay ovens are used to bake fresh garlic naan bread and to cook jumbo prawns, chicken almond kebabs and rack of lamb marinated in herbs, papaya and dried ginger. Desserts include homemade rice pudding with pistachio and cashews, and gulab jamun---fried balls of cheese dipped in honey syrup. Weekday lunch and weekend brunch buffets offer a myriad of options for mid-day guests. Choose a selection from the basic wine list, or order one of their martinis flavored with Indian spices to complement your meal. The mango and dirty martinis are house specialties.

Review :
I was invited to Dhaba by some of my friends who are true connoisseurs and vert faithful ti Indian cuisine.
Upon arrival, we were immediately seated by an elegant and smiling hostess wrapped in a gorgeous saree. Instead of the usual bread (or maybe Naan), we were presented with a basket of crisp, round wafers that had a lentil taste to them. Yum...
We ended up ordering the prix fixe menu, as we wanted a good variety of what the restaurant had to order, and we were to go to the play a few blocks down the road and didn't have all the time in the world.
When the food arrived, its presentation was artistic. What's better is that it was pure divinity to eat it. We had some lamb and chicken accompanied with some Naan bread. The wine recommended to us went perfectly as well, a light fruity Shiraz.
All of this was further complemented by an impeccable service and attention to our needs. I really have nothing negative to say about anything in Dhuba.
Thank you Dhaba, thank you...
