What started as a pleasant late night (we arrived just before midnight)visit ended with a manager(?) marching up and ordering us to leave. We had paid our bill shortly after receiving it and had been informed that they would be closing soon, but weren't given a specific time frame. Any place I've been to on a Friday night doesn't close up before 2am and this was about 1:15 at the latest. We had been polite, respectful and quiet and to be ordered out was disgraceful . I told the (supposed) manager that it wasn't necessary to be so rude and he told us that we were rude for still being there. One of our party firmly but politely remained seated to finish the beer he had paid for and the manager tried to take his glass and asked him if he was "going to be a **** about it"? Our friend continued to finish his beer in silence while the manager (possibly the owner based on other reviews I've since read) glowered over him and then we were essentially marched out of the restaurant (the owner practically stepping on our feet on the way down). We were so embarassed that friends of ours from the UK had to experience this treatment on their first trip to Toronto. We were also initially charged for an item we didn't order, but this could easily be forgiven (as well as my revolting margarita). A staff member who threatens and intimidates its customers, definitely NOT! I will most definitely inform everyone of our acquaintance to avoid this establishment like the plague! There is too much competition in the food and entertainment industry and this place will no doubt get its comme uppance, if not a law suit.
