Grey Moss Inn Description:
Grey Moss Inn is notable for both its wine list and romantic, old stagecoach stop setting. Many diamonds have been proffered under the influence of both. Accordingly, regulars expect a menu as unfaltering in its steaks as their personal commitment to matrimony, while the rest of us may look for something a little different. Escargots belgique may not be trail blazing, but they offer an alternative to Texas quail stuffed with homemade beef chorizo. Both the charcoal-grilled "best fish available" and the mesquite-grilled Pacific salmon can also keep beef at bay, but if steak is to be the star, we suggest the choice rib-eye; it's both traditional and terrific. Tradition also triumphs at dessert with Texas pecan pie, made from a recipe that's half a century old. Even with a wine list as deep as GM's (it's especially proud of reds from California and Bordeaux), there's unlikely to be a pair for the chocolate-mantled profiteroles, but Queen Nell's flourless chocolate cake is another matter.
