Luna de Noche Description:
Don't let the city Garland scare you off, as this restaurant is actually on the Garland/Plano border, and the homemade sangria alone is worth the drive. Another good thing about this restaurant---there's no ground beef in the kitchen, just slow-cooked shredded beef, which really perks up the flavor and texture of this food. We especially like the pollo pipian, a chicken breast with an intriguing sauce that contains finely chopped pecans, and La Carmen, cheese/onion enchiladas, also topped with a good sauce, this one spicy and loaded with shredded pork. Both of these are served with excellent chunky guacamole. Vegetarians will like the fusion stir-fry, a wealth of nicely seasoned vegetables served on a bed of rice, and lunch specials (served 11-4) and the dinner specials (4 p.m. to close). The lighter-than air sopaipillas (kind of like a crispy shell of a doughnut), dusted with cinnamon and ready to douse with honey, are the best of the desserts.
