Mirabelle Restaurant Description:
Mirabelle Tavern is the American cousin of Restaurant Mirabelle, the contemporary French restaurant which had previously made the move to the Three Village Inn. They are situated quite close and share chef Guy Reuge, but the Tavern has a lighter atmosphere and less intimidating menu, complete with a glossary defining terms such as "frisée" and "pimento d'espelette." The cocktail menu shares this charm with mojitos and vodkas infused with fruit flavors such as watermelon, lemon verbena, raspberry, peach and blueberry. The small-plates offerings range from a tuna tartare with microgreens and Thai vinaigrette to a BLT with heirloom tomato, Boston lettuce, apple wood-smoked bacon, and french fries. It is this balance of high and low that keeps it interesting, especially moving towards the entrées. Tender, juicy steak frites are served in an engaging display, with the fries in a stainless steel cup. "Trilogy plates" are offered, such as the Kobe beef sliders served on sea salt brioche buns and each boasting a different topping---ketchup, bacon and cheese, and jalapeño aïoli. For dessert, flaky profiteroles and a rich chocolate fondant wrap up the experience. The extensive wine list ensures something for everyone.
