Guardian Peak Restaurant Description:
The restaurant at Guardian Peak Winery offers views of Helderberg Mountain from its deck or through the wall of windows in the dining room. The menu is designed for guests to pair dishes to their chosen wine, rather than the other way around as in most restaurants. Diners might select ricotta fritters with sweet chilli dressing or crispy duck leg confit with cashew butter, sweet potato brûlée, tamarind emulsion and candied lemon to complement the Guardian Peak Frontier 2007. Executive chef Corli Els also offers a chef's soup, salad, pasta and dessert of the day, as well as a chef's specialty served with the winemaker's choice of wine. After their meal, patrons also have the opportunity to purchase bottles at a discounted price to enjoy at home.
