Maneuver past the obscure entrance and you will discover this stylish Italian restaurant that provides a rare view of the Singapore Straits. Italian restaurateur Beppe De Vito has created a dining destination on Sentosa Island for golfers and power lunches just 20 minutes from the city's "madding crowd." The interior is chic with Kartell chairs set around tables and flanked by modernistic standing floor lamps. Il Lido's contemporary Italian cuisine shines despite the frequent change of chefs (four chefs in three years), and the arrival of head chef Visani Gianluca has raised the culinary bar for the cooking to new heights. Choosing favorites is difficult but you will not want to miss the burrata cheese with Parma ham topped with rucola, and the grilled beef sirloin crowned with Parmigiano shavings. For dessert, take your pick from the impressive molten lava chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream or the soft-as-tofu panna cotta with balsamic red berries.
