Shugrue's Hillside Grill Description:
Located in the Hillside Courtyard Shopping Center on top of the Hillside Shops and Galleries. Serving salads, sandwiches, mesquite-grilled burgers and daily specials for lunch. Featuring mesquite-broiled steaks and chops, fresh seafood and rack of lamb at dinner. Light jazz entertainment many evenings. Sunset menu available. Panoramic views of Sedona from its scenic deck.
High ceilings, warm décor, broad-ranging views from floor-to-ceiling windows and an outdoor patio make Shugrue's Hillside Grill one of Sedona's favorite special occasion restaurants. The extensive menu focuses on seafood, but lamb, steak, chops and salads also are well-prepared. For starters, try the clam chowder or the blackened shrimp saganaki---a wedge of kasseri cheese, battered and fried, served with blackened shrimp and sambuca sauce. For dinner, go for the Torrington filet, a ten-ounce cut of beef smothered with shiitake mushrooms, cashews and sherry glaze; or a filet of salmon baked in puff pastry and served with roasted-pepper hollandaise. For lunch, try a creative burger, or the soft-shell crab sandwich, served with fried spinach, Thousand Island dressing and black caviar on French bread. The spectacular views make the trip well worthwhile, even if only to enjoy a cocktail and appetizer.
