Small, family-friendly and original, this spot with scenic park views offers pastries and newspapers during the morning hours. At lunchtime, panini on "angel's bread" and stromboli come on board. But the star attraction is pizza baked in a wood-fired oven. The cracker-thin crust becomes a foundation for unusual toppings ranging from roasted potatoes and Fontina cheese to artichoke hearts with red peppers and two cheeses. We recommend the Molte Piccante, a meat- and heat-lover's pie featuring spicy soppressata and chilies. One pizza serves two, if salads or starters accompany. The Caesar is fine, and the house salad especially inventive---a mix of greens topped with caramelized onions with a choice of cheeses. A better than average beer and wine list featuring Italian and local options adds to dining pleasure.
