From the outside, the unassuming storefront makes this place look like another hole-in-the-wall ID (Seattleites' nickname for the International District) Vietnamese restaurant. But the tiny eatery's delightful décor and carefully prepared dishes are fresh and authentic. Bamboo-covered walls, Asian accents and black lacquer tables set the tone. Upstairs, a larger room with incongruous wagon wheel-style furniture is less charming but considerably quieter. Start with the Vietnamese pancake topped with generous portions of shrimp and pork (easily shared among four people) and an order of four plump spring rolls with crunchy fried wontons tucked into the center. Favorites include catfish cooked in a clay pot, steaming bowls of anise-scented pho with beef, sea bass with lemon grass, and udon noodles with shrimp and crab. For $25.95, two people can share seven courses of beef. The friendly, helpful service is an added bonus. Go early if you don't want to wait.
