Chutneys Bistro Description:
Located on the first floor of a charming, renovated elementary school, Chutney's Bistro serves biryanis, tikas and kebabs as well as curries and other Indian favorites. The casual menu emphasizes authentic flavors, but the sensibility is more Western than the other Chutneys in town (now related by name only). Appetizers include oven-baked bites of chicken, shrimp or lamb for dipping into yogurt sauces subtly flavored with tamarind, dill or mint. Baigan wala is akin to pizza and features naan smothered with a spicy tomato coulis and topped with eggplant, paneer and fresh herbs. Chicken can be cooked in the tandoor oven or on the rotisserie, basted with tamarind and fennel. One of the best in town, the lunch buffet here is a bargain and includes freshly baked naan.
