Cafe Lago Description:
For almost two decades, Café Lago has provided the Montlake neighborhood with quality pizza, pastas and other authentically prepared, traditional Italian dishes, all served in a bright, rustic dining room. In the busy kitchen, pasta is made fresh daily. Best bets include the seven-layer lasagna, gnocchi and delicate ravioli. Or choose from several varieties of wood-fired pizzas. Carnivores will savor the balsamic-and-herb-marinated Angus beef sirloin steak that's grilled over apple wood and arrives tableside wearing a jaunty Gorgonzola hat flanked by grilled onions and radicchio. For seafood fans, there are scallops in a rich tomato sauce paired with homemade linguine. As a sweet finish, the nutty, candied orange-flecked biscotti is our first choice, although a lemon tart is serious competition. Cocktails and a small but thoughtfully chosen list of Italian wines round out the menu.
