13 Coins Description:
Semi-secluded haven for all-night food seekers in Seattle (those who have more than 13 coins to spend). Located just off Denny Way on Boren.
A Seattle institution since 1967, this high-quality, all-American restaurant is famous for 24-hour service year-round. A visit to the darkly-lit spot, known for its huge, always available breakfasts, is like taking a time machine ride back to the '70s. Order from private high-backed booths, or sit at the counter in over-size swiveling captain's chairs where you can chat with personable chefs. Yes, these are genuine chefs, not short-order cooks. The menu features classics ranging from BLTs to prime rib with all the trimmings. Other favorites include eggs Benedict, the hot crab and shrimp-cheddar melt, and 13 Coins French onion soup baked with Gruyère, mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses. On Friday and Saturday nights, the Night Owl Lounge features live entertainment. A second location is located near Sea-Tac Airport at 18000 International Blvd., 206-243-9500.
