Seattle's celebrated chef Scott Carsberg, of posh, high-end Lampreia fame, has re-created his dining concept. The result is a casual, Italian-style bistro with innovative yet traditional dishes. The elegant, contemporary Lampreia has been replaced by a refined, intimate space dominated by a beautifully crafted wood bar. Warm lighting casts a romantic glow, but the overall ambience could use some perking up. The menu features a small selection of artfully presented small plates that are expensive appetizers but not large enough for dinner. Carsberg's magic appears in the vibrant zucchini macaroni and the lamb chops ($5 each). Tender egg raviolis are filled with ricotta cheese, a red romaine salad features 20-year-old balsamic vinegar, and smoked artichokes are accented by Robiolina cheese. Unlike many other Belltown bars, Bisato is quiet and serene with professional service. Sit at the bar to watch a master chef create your meal.
