Bangkok Garden Description:
Formerly Dupont Thai, this remains one of the only Asian restaurants in the heart of San Francisco's Italian neighborhood. But armed with a good menu and an even better cook, Bangkok Garden is succeeding. Start with the fish cakes, served with a chunky cucumber salad. Another refreshing winner is the shredded green papaya salad with peanuts, green beans, tomato, lime juice and palm sugar. Mussamun curry inexplicably comes with chicken, pork or shrimp, but this hearty curry with chunks of potatoes and peanuts is really best when made with the traditional beef. There is no better finale than the sticky rice with mango.
