Sandwiched between two drab office buildings where fast food joints outweigh decent restaurants, you'll find a true gem with detailed cuisine, fast and friendly service and a clean satisfying space. Who knew? Jeff Masten, the seasoned chef, takes a regular diner menu and turns each dish into a specialty: napkin-thin schnitzel with a savory brown sauce and melted Swiss and Gruyère cheeses, buttery mashed potatoes, or house-baked pies, for example. Dinner is served Wednesday through Saturday only, since most patrons from the nearby offices hit the place for breakfast and lunch. The fluffy berry pancakes keep them coming back.
