Rio Grande Cafe Description:
The Rio Grande is a Salt Lake City institution, housed in the historic Rio Grande Train Station. Serving authentic Mexican cuisine, they offer tacos, tostadas, burritos, enchiladas, chimichangas, chili rellano, quesadillas, nachos, and chili rojo. They also serve domestic, local and imported beer as well as combination plates with a variety of choices all served with rice and beans.
Resting on its laurels as a state landmark inside the historic Rio Grande Train Depot in downtown Salt Lake City, the Rio serves food that's bland, and the menu is predictable and uninspired. The vegetable burrito has a weak load of veggies: corn, chopped peppers and onions; every plate is drenched in cheese and the service is unapologetically slow. That said, laden with party streamers, a suspended toy train and jukebox, your kids will love this place and beg to return every day of the week.
