Even as breakfast options proliferate in St. Louis, Kopperman's remains a standby for those who're out and about in the morning. The menu is replete with tempting comfort food (lox with eggs and onions, latkas, pastrami, etc.) as well as oddities like the tongue sandwich, and the servings are huge. Particularly fine are the fried onion-studded, paprika-zapped potatoes that arrive with the eggs. The store has a retail wine license, so if it's Champagne you're after, order it with your chopped liver. For night owls, it's open from 11 p.m. Friday until 5 p.m. Saturday, and 11 p.m. Saturday to 5 p.m. Sunday.
