Tartine Bistro Description:
Tartine strives to provide the comfort and ambience of a European café with décor that speaks of exposed brick, an old dark-wood bar and chandelier lighting. The cozy dining room is long and narrow, seating thirty-eight; there is additional seating at the bar and, weather permitting, on the patio. The one-sheet seasonal menu offers appetizers, salads, tartines, pizzas, entrées and sides. Start with the stuffed dates, sweet and rich in a port wine syrup. The namesake tartines are a savory indulgence. Try the roast pork; the open-face sandwich is dressed with smoked Gouda béchamel, a Dijon mustard and crispy sage. To accompany dinner, Tartine has a solid selection of reasonably priced wines, including a good variety of by-the-glass pours.
