Enzo sushi Description:
While Quebec City boasts several good or even excellent sushi restaurants, few in town approach this aspect of Japanese cuisine with the level of originality cooked up by Enzo Sushi. Set on the ground floor of an office building, Enzo welcomes diners in a large room divided in four sections including a wide bar and a mezzanine lined with intimate booths. The menu offers a remarkable variety of dishes, with classic tuna and salmon sushi, sashimi and rolls, but also pages of cooked, fried and sautéed dishes that range from traditional teriyaki to more unexpected flavors like lemon grass lamb or pork, chicken and shrimp quenelles. An easy option, when faced with such variety, are the "Chef's Choice" menus, which start with a hot appetizer like Saku scallops, consisting of grilled sliced scallops served with a sea urchin and saké sauce and salmon eggs. Sashimi and rolls accentuated with a variety of sauces (basil, mushroom and garlic, sea urchin, etc.) follow, including several tasty rolls wrapped in thin soy wraps, instead of the traditional sheets of roasted algae. A short wine list features several good choices at reasonable prices, with whites and reds that are able to sustain the spices and saltiness of sushi and other Japanese dishes.
