Rick's Roadhouse Description:
Rick's Roadhouse may be an old-fashioned roadside barbecue shack on steroids, but John Elkhay's Jewelry District joint retains the reasonable prices you'd expect at a rib-and-beer place without sacrificing quality or creativity. In addition to the requisite chicken wire, the décor includes a cool indoor-outdoor bar area. If you want to keep it down-home, try the reasonably priced one-third-pound burger and fries or a Cuban or pulled-pork sandwich. Same goes for one of Rick's half-dozen or so specialty margaritas. On the high end of the scale are wood-grilled steaks and seafood. The deluxe combo platter is an ace choice for grazers with an appetite---a heaving plate of sweet and lean pulled pork, slightly tough but tasty brisket, dry-rubbed baby-back ribs, and sides of moist cornbread and crisp coleslaw.
