Haven Brothers Diner Description:
Late-night mobile diner dating to 1888, parked next to Providence's City Hall six nights a week (closed Sunday's). Traditional diner fare (menu includes hamburgers, hot dogs, French fries, lobster rolls, milk shakes, chili, and chicken 'n' steak sandwiches). Eclectic clientèle from post-theatre and philharmonic crowds to dance and night-club crawlers wanting to nosh before collapsing. Cash only!
This restaurant remains what we consider down-and-dirty fun. Don't go expecting fancy digs or culinary fireworks: it's housed in a silver truck that pulls up on downtown's Fulton Street (right next to City Hall) six nights a week and stays until the wee hours. They offer killer hot dogs, baked beans, french fries, burgers (including the "all-the-way" double-decker Murder Burger), and the ultimate Rhode Island specialty---coffee milk. Arrive early if you want to snare one of the few coveted stools.
