Henry's 12th Street Tavern Description:
Portland has been Beervana since Henry Weinhard built a brewery in the heart of Portland to provide ale for thirsty loggers, fishermen and farmers. Fast-forward a hundred years and the original, beautiful building still stands, now home to a number of businesses including this upscale tavern named for old Henry himself. Happy hour here rocks! The mostly young crowd clearly enjoys the vast variety of beer available (100 beers on tap) and setting their mugs on a refrigerated strip running along the edge of the bar. The food menu has a wide range as well, from predictable pub grub sandwiches to good seafood specials, pan-Asian fare, sushi and pizza. Imagine the power to order an onion ring tower alongside sesame seared Alaskan scallops, then top it off with triple-decker chocolate cake. The billiard room, plasma TV, and comfy leather chairs round out the experience.
