The Old Spaghetti Factory Description:
There are Old Spaghetti Factory locations all over the planet, but this is the place where everything started. The imposing building overlooking the Willamette River houses the chain's corporate headquarters as well as a massive restaurant. The décor edges toward turn-of-the-century bordello with ornate antiques and fringed lamps; the food is also a bit gaudy but edible and consistent. Choose from classic pasta dishes---spaghetti, lasagna and the like---or updated specialties such as jumbo crab ravioli in a pesto Alfredo sauce. All meals arrive with salad, bread, beverage and ice cream. You can't make reservations, but the upstairs bar is a pleasant place to await a table, and the youngsters can hang out in the game room or playroom. A stroll along the river afterward is a terrific way to burn all those carbs.
